Barbacan Rosso di Valtellina 2018
A refreshing Alpine wine, the Rosso di Valtellina is predominantly Nebbiolo and shows concentrated red fruits, bright acidity and fine tannins.
Barbacan farms seven hectares in Valtellina, a valley in the Italian Alps near the Swiss border. The incredibly steep slopes of Valtellina require 'heroic viticulture', as the locals call it. This means all work is manual and farming is organic. In the cellar, Barbacan practices minimal intervention winemaking, native yeast fermentation, and no sulphur is added until bottling.
