Artuke Paso las Manas Rioja 2017
This Tempranillo is made from grapes grown in a single vineyard at 720 meters in altitude. It offers beautiful intense ripe fruit, a touch of herbs, smooth tannins and a long finish. It is fermented with indigenous yeast and aged in large oak foudre for 12 months.
Brothers Arturo and Kiki - hence Artuke - manage this Rioja estate which follows winemaking practices that are more Burgundian than is typical in the region. They focus on terroir and displaying the difference between each vineyard and parcel of grapes, as opposed to following the traditional Rioja DO classifications.
